Dr Andrew Wright

MBBS, Dip RACOG, FRACGP, MSc

Andrew enjoys dealing with the variety of medical problems that present at a busy family practice. And he’s seen nearly all of them in his 34 years’ experience as a GP – including seven spent in regional Tasmania.

He’s travelled to Africa on several occasions over the past 20 years to be involved in rural healthcare clinics and voluntary hospital work.

In particular, he has been instrumental in establishing a private not-for-profit medical centre and hospital in Northern Uganda, called Yotkom Uganda, where he works for several weeks of the year.

Andrew has special interests in children’s health, travel medicine, tropical and public health.

He is married to Anne and has three children and eight grandchildren.
