Is telehealth right for me?

Consultations by phone and video ('telehealth') have been around for a while now, but we've watched their popularity skyrocket during the Covid-19 pandemic.

Phone consultations give you the opportunity to discuss your issue with your doctor in real-time. They'll do their best to offer a diagnosis, discuss treatment options, and plan a path forward. Phone consultations are also a useful option for follow-up calls, or to discuss the results of diagnostic tests.

They're not always the best option, though. Sometimes, it's really important that we examine you physically – even if your symptoms seem minor, like a sore throat or a rash.

The Hippocratic oath tells us that 'warmth, sympathy and understanding' are as powerful as any drug or surgeon's knife. The oath was written sometime between the fifth and third century BC, but that sentiment is as true as ever. To provide the very best care, you need a trusted, personal connection with your doctor - and that's so much harder to achieve by phone.

If you think you need to see a doctor, please don't hesitate to book online or get in touch. We'll happily provide phone consultations where appropriate, but we may ask you to come in, too.

Rest assured we're taking additional infection control and social distancing measures to ensure the safety of our patients and staff.
