Meet Our Doctors We encourage you to see the same doctor each time you visit Carindale Medical Clinic.

Dr Noela Whitby
MBBS (Qld), GradDipHumNut (Deakin), DPD (Cardiff), FRACGP
Dr Noela Whitby established Carindale Medical Clinic in 1979. As such, it’s not uncommon for her to have been the go-to doctor for several generations of the one family. She takes great delight in looking after the babies of women who she once cared for as babies!
Noela has a particular interest in women’s health, asthma management, nutrition and skin diseases. She is a graduate of the University of Queensland, a Fellow of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners, and holds additional qualifications in nutrition and dermatology.
Noela was awarded the Member of the Order of Australia in 2006 in recognition of her services to the community, and is presently the Chair of the National Asthma Council.

Dr David Connah
MBBS (Qld)
David has been a doctor at Carindale Medical Clinic for more than ten years. In that time, he’s developed a loyal following of patients who appreciate his calm and methodical approach.
Prior to joining us, David operated his own medical practice in Kingaroy. He also spent six years working in hospitals in Brisbane and Central Queensland – including a year in emergency medicine at the Royal Brisbane Hospital, where he served as the on-board doctor in helicopter retrievals of seriously ill patients.
David completed his medical degree at the University of Queensland, and is interested in all aspects of general practice, especially preventative healthcare. He is married with three teenage sons, is a vocal Queensland Reds supporter, and previously served in the Australian Army Reserve.

Dr Jocelyn Keogh
MBBS (Qld), GradDipPallMed (Melb), FRACGP
After many years of working in the local area, Jocelyn tried to retire. Lucky for us, it didn’t stick — she soon missed the satisfaction and sense of purpose that comes from being a family doctor.
Our patients now benefit from Jocelyn’s vast medical knowledge — as well as the more practical experience she’s gained as a mother of one and grandmother of two.
Jocelyn graduated from the University of Queensland in 1975 and is interested in all aspects of general practice, especially preventative healthcare.
When not at work, she can be found entertaining her grandsons, dogs and cat… although her cat would not appreciate placing last in that list.

Dr Lionel Lee
MBBS (Qld), BPharm, FRACGP
Lionel has been at doctor at Carindale Medical Clinic since 2007 and lives locally. He graduated from medicine at the University of Queensland after studying pharmacy.
As the new father of a little boy, Lionel has a special interest in children’s medicine – and has great empathy for terrified dads-to-be. His other special interests include travel medicine, paediatrics, men’s health and intellectual disability.
When not crawling around after his son, Lionel enjoys cooking and plays basketball to keep fit.

Dr Samantha Robinson
MBBS (Qld),
BAppSc (MedRad Tech), FRACGP
Samantha has lived in Brisbane all her life. She studied medicine at the University of Queensland , having previously trained as a radiographer at QUT. She has had extensive hospital experience in a broad range of specialties which has served as a solid foundation for her career as a family doctor.
Samantha is interested in all areas of General Practice, especially chronic illnesses such as diabetes and heart disease. She has also completed additional training in women’s health and holds a Certificate in Sexual Health and Family Planning.
In her free time, Sam enjoys baking, reading, gardening and going to the beach.

Dr Juergen Landmann
MBBS (Qld), MPhil, BSc (Hons 1), DCH, FRACGP
Before becoming a doctor, Juergen worked in commercial fishing and cattle science.
Any GP can treat your sinus infection – but can they teach your how to catch whiting or advise on the best cut of meat for your roast?
Juergen is the father of three young children, and has achieved what few dads have: membership of the school pick-up mother’s group! His practical understanding of parenting, school and kindy life complements his Diploma in Child Health to help with the challenges children sometimes present.
Juergen enjoys providing antenatal care, and is accredited with local public hospitals, providing a GP-centred alternative to private obstetrics. He also takes a great interest in the health of young people, and in sexual health in particular.
While he’s an amazing doctor, beware: he has a huge collection of “dad jokes”!

Dr Cindy-Lee Swannell
MBBS (Qld), DCH, FRACGP
Cindy now lives locally, but spent many years moving around with her family – working as a doctor in the rural Australia, Christmas Island and New Zealand.
Her love for travel and adventure saw her volunteer at an orphanage in Nepal, an experience which left her humbled and grateful for all the privileges we enjoy in Australia.
Cindy has a special interest in women’s health, and enjoys the incredible variety of work that comes with being a family doctor.
Like most of our doctors, Cindy studied medicine at the University of Queensland, and holds additional qualifications in paediatrics and family planning. Cindy also performs Mirena® coil insertions.

Dr Brooke Wilson
MBBS (Qld), FRACGP
Brooke is a Brisbane girl who completed her medical degree at the University of Queensland after studying Applied Science at QUT. She completed rotations in medical school in both Rockhamption and Toowoomba, and started her career as a doctor in Ipswich. She has interests in chronic diseases, minor procedures, and a focus on preventative health and wellness promotion. Brooke has a Certificate in Sexual Health and Family Planning, and has completed the UQ Skin Cancer Medicine Certificate.
As a mother of 3 young children she spends her time at ballet recitals and swimming lessons when not at work. Most recently she has enjoyed creating delicious dishes for her husband and children with her new favourite toy, the thermomix!

Dr Nikki Pfeffer
MBBS (Griffith), FRACGP
Nikki is a country girl, raised in the Northern Rivers region of New South Wales. Nikki completed her medical degree at Griffith University on the Gold Coast, and then settled in Brisbane, finishing her medical training at the Mater Hospital.
Nikki is a mother of three (mostly) gorgeous kids, and has a particular interest in paediatrics and women’s health. She is an accredited doctor with local hospitals for shared antenatal care, and is experienced with Implanon contraceptive implants.
When she isn’t running around after her family, Nikki enjoys sewing (don’t hold that against her, either) and is a keen amateur photographer.
